INCINERATOR: "BADLY THOUGHT OUT AND WRONG FOR CORNWALL"

4.00.00pm GMT Thu 5th Feb 2009

STIG

Stephen Gilbert will once again speak out against the proposed incinerator in St Dennis when Restormel Borough Council debates the plans for the final time next week.

The Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate for St Austell & Newquay, which includes the clay area, will tell local Councillors at the meeting on February 11th that "incineration is not the right option, one-site is not the right solution, and that St Dennis is not the right place."

Stephen Gilbert added: "The incinerator application is now in its final stages with the County Council due to make a decision in March. I hope that Restormel Councillors will come together, across the political divide, and send a very clear message that the plans are badly thought out and wrong for Cornwall."
